How to Issue a Refund
1. To issue a refund, locate the gift by going to Gifts > Search Gifts.
2. Locate the gift you are looking for and click on it.
3. Scroll to the Credit Card Details at the bottom of the page. Click on View Transaction.
4. You will see the transaction details. Click on Refund in the top right-hand corner of the
screen.
5. A pop-up window should appear. Click on the Refund button.
6. You will see a confirmation that a refund for the amount of the donation was refunded. Click on Exit.
7. You will now see the refund information on the credit card transaction page. Click Exit in the top right-hand corner of the screen.
8. You will see that the refund is also listed at the bottom of the gift screen.
SIDE NOTE: Eleo is an online fundraising database, not accounting software. You may handle your
accounting however you would like, but Eleo will leave the gift in the database unless you delete it.
9. If you choose to delete it, you will want to make sure to copy the gift and refund transaction information somewhere, perhaps the notes to have a record of this. It would also be available with
your payment processor transactions. To delete a gift, simply click on Edit in the top right of the Gift
Screen.
10. You will then have a ‘Delete’ button. Click on that.
11. A message will pop-up asking if you are sure that you want to delete this gift. Choose ‘OK’.
