How to Integrate with Braintree (PayPal Affiliate)
Braintree is one of the options we have for processing online payments in Eleo.
*NOTE: You may need to contact the Eleo Support Team to turn on access to credit cards from the back end of the software in order to use. If you do not see the options listed below in your Eleo account, please call 1-844-676-3536 to have this turned on.
Signing up with Braintree
To apply, please go to www.braintreepayments.com and click on "Contact Sales" at the top right to reach someone, or click the “or sign-up now” link on the main page. Then complete the application. Braintree will reach out to you within one business day with any follow up questions from their underwriters.
Setting up Braintree in Eleo
Once your Braintree account has been created, log in to see the Braintree Control Panel.
Select the circle icon on the top right hand corner, and then select “My User”.
Scroll down and find “API Keys, Tokenization Keys, Encryption Keys” and click on “View Authorizations”.
The Public Key you will need can be found here. But click on the “View” button under Private Key to see the 3 pieces of data you need.
Here you will find the Public Key, Private Key and Merchant ID which are required to link Braintree to Eleo. Leave this page open and open another tab or window for Eleo (so you can copy and paste the keys into Eleo).
In Eleo, select ‘Settings’ and then ‘System Settings’.
Select the “Edit” on the top right and make sure that “Credit Card Module” is marked off. Then press “Save”.
Click “Edit” again and scroll down the page until you see CREDIT CARD SETTINGS/CREDIT CARD SETUP INFORMATION.
Choose LIVE for the “Connection Type” and BRAINTREE for the “Gateway Provider”. Copy and paste the data from your Braintree account page into the corresponding boxes. Scroll back to the top of the page and select “Save”. Scroll once more to the bottom and click on the “Credit Card System Test” on the right-hand side. This will tell you whether a connection can be made between Eleo, and Braintree given your credentials. If this is successful, you are ready to go!
Connecting PayPal Account to Braintree
To link Braintree with PayPal you need to have a PayPal Business Account. Due to consistent changes with this process, please use this link to see how to connect the two accounts.https://developer.paypal.com/braintree/articles/guides/payment-methods/paypal/setup-guide
How to Use Braintree in Web Forms
You can have a donor/registrant pay with their PayPal account on a Donation, Event Registration or Membership Web Form.
Once a user fills out the form, they will see a second page prompting the user for credit card or PayPal information.
