Mailing & Email Integration FAQs

Q: Can you send emails from Eleo directly?

A: Eleo allows for one-off emails to be sent directly from the contact record.

Please contact Support@EleoOnline.com if you would like this feature turned

on in your database. Currently these emails cannot include attachments,

graphics, logos, or signatures. For bulk and graphic emails, we integrate with

Mailchimp and Constant Contact.

Q: How do I send email blasts using Eleo?

A: First, you will need to have an integration with Mailchimp or Constant Contact.

Then you create the mailing in Eleo and send the contact data (First Name, Last

Name, and Email) from Eleo over to Mailchimp or Constant Contact. Using that

email platform, you complete the actual email and send it out.

Q: Can I use a free version of Mailchimp?

A: Yes, however there are some limitations (ex. there is one audience in

Mailchimp's free version). We recommend researching the free version versus

the paid version of Mailchimp since we do not provide support for their platform.

Since the free version has only one audience, you may want to archive your data

list, and re-send it over with updated information (ex. new gift ranges for the

same Fund). You may then create a new mailing, but you will need to keep the

name consistent for your Email Mailing, and Campaign. Also spacing, special

characters, and capitalization can affect the mailing being sent over successfully.

Q: What is an email template in Eleo?

A: Our email templates are simply a list of fields that you want to use with your

integrated email provider. Typically, you will include First Name and Email if you

want to send a general email blast. If you want to send a personalized email with

additional fields, you will have to choose the Download option instead of the

Send to Mailchimp or Send to Constant Contact buttons.

Q: What is the purpose of integrating Eleo with an email provider?

A: The integration enables you to quickly and efficiently send your contact list

directly from Eleo to Constant Contact or Mailchimp. The email platform is

where you can then send out bulk emails, as well as, design graphic emails.

Q: Is the integration two-way? Will data be sent from Eleo to the email provider, as well as, from the email provider back to Eleo?

A: No, it is a one-way integration. Data will only be sent from Eleo to the email

provider, not back to Eleo. If you have anyone that unsubscribes, it is up to you

to remove or update the information in Eleo if you choose to.

Q: Where can I pull reports for my email mailings?

A: Eleo receives a few items back from Mailchimp and Constant Contact (Ex.

bounce, open, send rates, etc.), though for the most accurate data, and

expanded analytics, we suggest viewing the available reports in the email

platform that you are integrated with.
