How to Create End of Year Letters via Email
In order to send End of Year Letters via email you will need to have an integration with either Mailchimp or Constant Contact.
1) Create an Email Template by going to Mailings > Templates > Email Templates.
2) Add Email Template.
3) Give the template any name you would like. Perhaps something like End of Year. Choose ‘Mailing’ for the type.
4) Select any fields you would like included in your email from Eleo. Be sure to include a name field(First Name or Informal Salutation/Organization if needed), email address, Previous YTD Gift Amount, and any other fields you would like.
5) Once you have all necessary fields selected, click ‘Add’ in the middle and they will all appear on the right-hand side.
6) ‘Save’ the template on the top right.
7) Then click back into that template you just made.
8) Click on ‘Create Mailing’ on the top right. (This is a shortcut that will jump you ahead a steps in the mailing process).
9) Select all mailing options…including filtering for those you want to send to and then press ‘Continue’.
10) Name the mailing whatever you would like and then select ‘Save Mailing’.
11) Select the blue ‘Download’ button to download your file of Eleo Data.
12) Then use that Excel/CSV file to upload into Mailchimp or Constant Contact and follow their instructions to complete an email type merge and then send out the emails when you are ready.
