How to Create a $0 Membership for Tracking Purposes
There may be times where you need to keep track of a membership for someone that did not actually make the payment themselves. For example: an organizational membership – Organization ABC buys a membership for Joe Staff and Sally Staff. Here is how to create that in Eleo and list it under contacts.
1. First add a new level to the membership for the additional members at no cost. Go to Settings > Membership Settings, and click on ‘Membership Types’.
2. Select the membership that you are working with.
3. Then, click on ‘Add Level’.
4. Fill out all necessary fields. For the amount, you can simply leave it blank. You may want to name this level something like ‘Additional Organizational Member’. Once you are done, click ‘Save’.
5. Sell the organizational membership as you normally would. For the additional members, go to Memberships > Add Membership.
6. Search for or locate the name of the member you want to add the membership for and click on their name.
7. Fill out the membership and use the new level you recently created from these steps. Then, be sure to fill out the ‘Given By’ field, and link it to the record that paid for the membership. If you want, you can put a note in to remind you it is an organizational membership and who it was paid by. When you are done, click on ‘Save’.
8. Repeat steps #5-7 for any other additional members.
