How to Update Contact Information in Bulk

These are the steps to update existing contact records using the Import Tool.


1. Using the Contact Report Writer, create a custom report by selecting the fields from the contact record that will be updated and ensure Account Number is also selected. The Account Number will guarantee that Eleo is updating the intended contact record.

2. Download the report in Excel. You may add additional columns that were not part of the original downloaded custom report. Make any changes/edits to the data in the Excel file (Ex. Account #1001 for Carmen Hayes becomes Carmen Smith) and save the file.

3. Review your file and then use the Import Tool under Settings > Import Tool > Import Data. If you have not used the Import Tool before, we strongly recommend having a Support Specialist on the line for your first time using it. The guides and templates located in the Import Tool along with the webinar on INSIDE ELEO – The Ins and Outs of the Import Tool will be useful for you when using this feature.


Please Note: Address, phone number, and email fields do not update. These fields will only add new data.
