Exporting from QuickBooks for the Initial Import

Whether you are exporting historical contacts and gifts from QuickBooks Online (the version we integrate with) or the desktop version, these steps will be useful for you for your initial import to migrate your data over to Eleo.


1. Select a report (Ex. Sales by Customer Detail Report) in your QuickBooks account. It is up to you and your organization the type of report that you choose to pull.


2. Find the Customize button.

3. Find the link titled ‘Change columns’ and click on it.

4. Select the columns of the fields that you wish to include in the report (Ex. address, email, phone, etc.).

5. To export the selected fields from QuickBooks, download the report. Next, please proceed with one of these options:

  • Send your file over to imports@eleoonline.com to request a quote from our Support Team to have the data formatted for your initial import.
  • Using the guides and templates in Eleo under Settings > Import Tool > Import Data, format your spreadsheet to then send it over to imports@eleoonline.com for review. Once formatted correctly, our team will schedule your import to be completed.
  • After reviewing the guides and templates in Eleo under Settings > Import Tool > Import Data, use the Import Tool with a Support Specialist during a Training Session. The webinar in the Resources tab of the Library that is titled INSIDE ELEO – The Ins and Outs of the Import Tool will be useful when learning about how to use this feature.
  • Manually enter the data from your QuickBooks report into your Eleo database.
