How to Setup A Recurring Gift Using Stripe

Stripe does not require anything to be set up on their side to accept recurring gifts into Eleo. Subscriptions in Stripe are Recurring Gift Accounts in Eleo and will automatically charge each contact’s billing method at midnight on their payment day. Eleo pulls these transactions and allows the user to create gifts from them.

1) Set up any Gift Defaults for recurring gifts by going to Settings > System Settings > Recurring Gift Defaults. These will be the codes the gifts will be given when the recurring payments are processed in Eleo.

Manually Set Up A Recurring Gift

1) Go to the contact record of the person you would like to set up a recurring gift for. Then, select the 'Recurring' tab.

2) Click on 'Add Recurring Gift'.

3) Enter the recurring gift amount and select the 'Billing Interval'. If 'Custom' is selected, additional options will display allowing the user to create the frequency. When finished, select the 'Next' button to continue.

4) If the contact has existing cards on file, they will display as payment options. You may select one of these cards and click on 'Use Selected Method' or on the 'Use Another Method' link to enter a new card.

5) If you are entering a new card, enter the card information and select 'Submit Payment'. The email listed here will be the email sent to Stripe with this subscription.

6) A confirmation screen will then display showing the status of the new recurrence account and if it was created successfully.
