How to Process Recurring Gifts Using Stripe

Stripe does not require anything to be set up from their side to accept Recurring Gifts into Eleo. Subscriptions in Stripe are Recurring Gift Accounts in Eleo and will automatically charge each contact’s billing method at midnight on their payment day.

1) When Stripe makes a recurring transaction charge, it will display as an unprocessed gift in Eleo. These additional payments will NOT show up under the Web Form Pending Area.

You will see a message like this if you have unprocessed Recurring Gifts from a Web Form and have turned on this alert in your Eleo account. This option is located under Settings > System Settings > Recurring Gift Options. Being notified to process gifts within the last 120 days is the default option in Eleo, but you may adjust it to your organization’s preferred settings. If you use the ‘Click here’ link, it will take you into the list of new recurring payments that came in, which you can then process.

*NOTE: You are processing the data into Eleo. The payments have already been processed by Stripe.

2) A list of all the recurring transactions can be accessed by going to Gifts > Recurring Gifts > Recurring Gift Transactions.

3) If an unprocessed gift has ‘None: Process Web Form Record’, in the Recurrence Account column, the gift cannot be processed until the Web Form record is moved there (which will create the Recurrence Account record). The link will take the user to that specific Web Form’s pending page.

4) If the record has an associated Recurrence Account, the user will be able to process the transaction as a gift in Eleo. For this, set the action of the records that you wish to process to ‘Add’, and click on ‘Process’.

5) Select ‘Okay’ in response to the prompt.

6) The processed gifts will now be listed under the ‘Processed’ tab.

7) You can view the individual gift by clicking on the link in the ‘Gift’ column.

8) The next page depicts an example of what the gift screen would look like. The credit card and Recurring Gift details are located at the bottom of the screen.

9) Clicking the ‘Recurrence Account’ link will display the subscription and all of the gifts that have been processed so far.

10) The following page shows an example of what you will see when clicking on a Recurrence Account number.
