Understanding the Donor Retention Widget

There is a Donor Retention Widget on the Home page. It looks something like this:

DATE RANGE:

You can choose from the following Date Ranges:

Number of Donors: This is the total number of donors during the date range you selected.

Gifts: The total amount of donation dollars given during the date range selected.

Average Gift: The total gift amount divided by the total number of gifts for the date range selected.

Explanation of statistics:

The Donor Retention Widget pulls from the following information:

ALL transaction types (gifts, pledges, memberships, soft credits).

ALL payment types (Cash, Check, Credit Card, In-kind, Other, etc.) are included.

*PLEASE NOTE: Anonymous gifts within the parameters of the dates selected, will NOT be included in the total for users who do NOT have access to anonymous gifts.

Donor Retention: Total Amount raised within the period of time specified divided by the total number of gifts within the same period.

Reporting: The following reports may be helpful to confirm your donor retention statistics.

Gifts by Date Report (Summary) will confirm the # of gifts and total amount for gifts by date. If they do not match, it may be due to an anonymous gift.

Gifts by Contacts report can be used to confirm the number of contacts/donors in the given year.
