How to Manually Add a Contact
Here are the step-by-step instructions on how to manually add a contact into your Eleo database:
1) Navigate to Contacts > Add Contact.
2) Enter the corresponding information for your Contact Record. If the Contact Type is an Individual, the First Name field will be required, and if the Contact Type is any other type (Ex. Company), the Organization field will be required. User Tip: We highly recommend filling out the Informal and Formal Salutation fields. This way, if you choose to use our Mailings Module for mailings and do labels, you already have this information completed.
3) After filling out the information for your contact, you can either click on ‘Save’ to complete adding your contact as a Contact Record to your database, or click on ‘Save and Continue’ to expand the fields that you can add for your contact. You also have the option to click on ‘Save and Add Gift’ if you would like to enter in their donation. If you select this option, please reference our guide on ‘How to Manually Add a Gift’ for additional guidance.
4) If you select ‘Save and Continue’, fill out the additional fields that you would like to, and then click on ‘Save’.
USER TIP: You can add a donor's birthday to their contact record. We then have a Contact Birthday Report you can run to see upcoming birthdays!
