How to Track In-kind Gifts

It is up to you and your organization how you would like to track your in-kind donations in Eleo. We recommend being consistent throughout your database with what you decide on. In-kind donations do have a monetary value, and that is why when you add an in-kind gift in Eleo, the Gift Amount will still be a required field.

Here are some suggestions for tracking your in-kind Gifts in Eleo:

1) You may create either a Campaign, Fund, or Appeal for your in-kind contributions. That way they may be easily filtered out for reporting purposes. To add any of these three options, click on your Settings (which is located in the upper right-hand corner when you login).

2) Next, navigate to your Gift Settings and click on the corresponding one you that would like to track your In-kind Gifts under (Ex. Campaign, Fund, or Appeal).

3) For Example: if you click on Funds and then on ‘Add Fund’ you may then add your fund where you will be able to track your in-kind gifts. When adding newly added gifts, you may designate those in-kind gifts to this fund.

4) Then, name your Fund, and any optional fields that you would like to have as well and click on Save.

5) You will need to determine the monetary amounts of your In-kind Gifts. If you do not know them, we recommend tracking them with $0.01 until you have an approximate amount.
