How to Apply a Pledge Payment


Once you have added a pledge, you are able to add a payment to it when you receive it. There are two ways that you can apply a Pledge Payment.

Option 1 - through the contact record


1) The first way to apply a Pledge Payment is by going into the contact record and applying the payment there. You may do this by logging in and from the Home screen going to the Contacts module and clicking on Search Contacts.

2) Next, select the name of the contact record that you would like to apply the Pledge Payment to, or search in the Contact Search areas using the Contact Filters. Here you can enter the searchable criteria that you would like to populate to pull the contact record that you are searching for.

  • Remember that you can click on the + sign to extend the search criteria if you are unable to find the contact record that you are looking for as this will give you more options to search by.

3) Once you have searched and found the contact record that you would like to apply the payment for, you will be brought to their contact record. Click on the Pledges tab.

4) Next, click on the pledge that you would like to apply the payment for.


5) On the next screen, scroll down to Pledge Payments. Click on ‘Apply Payment’ for the pledge that you would like to apply the payment for.

  • Please note that here you can either apply the payment, edit the payment, or delete the payment.

6) After clicking on Apply Payment, you will be brought to the following screen. Here you can enter the corresponding fields for the payment of your pledge.

  • As a friendly reminder, the fields with red asterisks (*) in Eleo are required.

7) Once you have completed filling out the fields for your Pledge Payment, click on the green. Save button in the upper right-hand corner of the screen. You have then successfully completed applying your Pledge Payment!

  • Your Pledge Payment is available to view under the Pledge Payments section.

OPTION 2 - through the gifts area


1) Another way to apply a Pledge Payment in Eleo is to login to your Eleo account, and then navigate to Gifts > Gifts > Add Pledge Payment.

2) Then, in Search Options, search for the pledge that you would like to add the payment to. You may do this by entering contact information or other record-related data regarding the pledge in the searchable fields. Next, click on the green Search button to the left. If you would like to clear your search (to begin searching again), select the green Clear button.

  • Remember that you can click on the + sign to extend the search criteria if you are unable to find the pledge that you are looking for as this will give you more options to search by.

3) Once your results populate, select the pledge that you are adding the payment to. You will then be brought to a Gift screen, and you can scroll down to the below area where the Pledge Payments are located. Here you may enter the fields that you have data for.

  • Please note that in Eleo, all fields with red asterisks (*) are required, and that fields in blue are customizable.

4) Click on the green Save button in the upper right-hand corner of Eleo. Your Pledge Payment has now been successfully applied to the pledge!

  • Your Pledge Payments will be available to view in the gift record under Pledge Payment.
  • You may select View underlined in blue to look at the payments that have been made.
